And since SIMPLE is really set up as a school setting, I thought it would be fun to create a video yearbook for those that were part of the event.

Today, it’s Ron Headley, from Georgetown, Kentucky.

Bob The Teacher: Briefly describe the status of your business before you came to SIMPLE? How much internet marketing were you doing?

Ron Headley: I was an eBay seller and when eBay sales began to seriously slip I put together a sales site using a template system, using this system I have to pay a monthly fee. The biggest problem is the template – while I have learned to do a lot inside the template and it does work – I wanted to learn more on making the site work better.

I sell garden windmills and weathervanes and mini windmills. I stock the mini windmills and the weathervanes and windmills are drop shipped. Before SIMPLE I was getting 3-4 sales a week.

At SIMPLE, I learned how to better optimize the site and better use blogs and social media to better stay on page one of Google and to know the key words people use to get there. Today I sent one of my suppliers a $3K check for products which translates to $5K of sales. I sell at least one windmill or weathervane every day now. I have learned a lot about Aweber and have begun to build a small list.

Bob: When you first thought about coming to SIMPLE, what almost kept you from making the trip?

Ron Headley: I had been to several internet marketing “live events” in the past. These amounted to a series of slick marketers doing a pitch for a product that would last from 30 minutes to an hour and then a “limited” supply of the products would be offered for sale in the back. (always in a shrink wrap package)

I had already purchased and used Discover C-Panel and it was a great help in getting me to a major step – having and maintaining my own web site – not having to use Web Master. C-Panel was a scary place for me. About all I knew was if I messed up my site would crash and I would have to get my webmaster to fix it, which always cost time and money.

I then began to look at other things Bob the Teacher had done and just knew I had to get to SIMPLE and so I went.

Bob: During the SIMPLE event, what 3 things stick out to you now as being a different kind of event or seminar?

Ron Headley: The morning before the event started I met some of the people attending – interesting people, people either wanting to learn how to do IM or already highly knowledgeable and want to learn more. It was like the old day of eBay and attending eBay live. People had come to learn and the share what they knew.

I learned more about IM in the first 3 hours that I had learned on my own in 3 years. Bob Jenkins teaches in a way that I can understand. He encourages people to meet with others at the event – to network. Bob is very good at teaching and getting people involved.

The first SIMPLE was three days of step by step learning. I am still in a spin attempting to utilize all that was presented in those three day.

Bob: What were 2-3 shifts in thinking that you were able to make during or immediately after SIMPLE?

Ron Headley: I knew I could get into information marketing and I knew I could learn to do the technical things needed behind the scenes to make things work.

Most of what I had learned about IM before was purely hype – that this was very different, solid information on what to do and how to do it.

Bob: After SIMPLE, what actions did you take to move your business forward?    

Ron Headley:

1. I learned about DAP and how to set it up and use it. Met Ravi who wrote DAP
2. I learned how to get my autoresponder up and running – (Aweber)
3. I met Lon Naylor and took his Learn Camtasia course – from that I am starting to get a handle on how to do training videos
4. I set up the Geezer n Geek site and have gotten it closer to being a part of what I do
5. I took Christina Hills – Word Press Creation workshop (a couple of people I met at SIMPLE recommend it) and am now a lot more comfortable with setting up Word Press Sites.
6. I have helped several people “fire their webmaster” and do their own sites using Word Press at GeezerNGeek.com.
7. I have begun to put together my own sales site using Word Press that hopefully will replace the template sales site I now use
8. I have been following several people who I met at SIMPLE and see the progress they have made with their sites and I know I can do that to.

Bob: What results have you had in your life and business since you started putting SIMPLE strategies into action?

Ron Headley: The main thing is TARL (Take Action! Revise Later) – I used to work hours and days on things getting them “right” before launching them out on the internet. Result things got done but it took too much time. Now I have learned I can just do it and if it needs fixed or changed that can come later.

I believe I may have things (information) to offer and that I can help people learn to do things like how to use their computer or the Internet. I have learned it OK to actually charge to help people learn things that I know.

Bob: What’s next for you as you continue to implement SIMPLE strategies in your business?

Ron Headley: I really want to get some active information sites going. I know I need to partner with people and that I cannot do everything myself.

Need to get sites up that actually get people to sign up and learn what I have to teach them.

Bob: What would you tell someone who is thinking about attending SIMPLE to help them decide?

Ron Headley: All I can say is I signed up for SIMPLE II less than 10 minutes after it was offered. I would say the class room training is the best you can get. Bob Jenkins is the “real deal” not some one selling stuff but someone genuinely teaching solid material on how to actually do IM.

The biggest bonus beyond a really great series of training done by Bob are the people attending, Bob openly shares what he knows, is great at answering questions and encourages attendees to do so also.

Bob: Anything else you’d like to share?

Ron Headley: SIMPLE consolidated what I knew about IM – and got me to focus on how to get things done.

Gretchen Jack: I didn’t have a business! I didn’t have a list. I didn’t know how to do this thing called ” internet marketing”.

But I wanted one! I wanted to find a way to earn money for retirement. Not big lump sums…but monthly income…..steady monthly income.

Bob: When you first thought about coming to SIMPLE, what almost kept you from making the trip?

Gretchen: Fear of being the dumbest one in the room. A technie I am not. Most of it mystifies me.

Bob: During the SIMPLE event, what 3 things stick out to you now as being a different kind of event or seminar?

Gretchen:

1. They didn’t try to sell me something every hour on the hour.
2. I was getting clear, concise instructions on how to proceed.
3. Everyone was accessible. We were all in the same room and interacted with teachers and attendee’s alike. Really made for a warm friendly atmosphere. Very conducive to learning.

Bob: What were 2-3 shifts in thinking that you were able to make during or immediately after SIMPLE?

Gretchen: I started to believe that I could do it.

When Bob said to just go ahead and do your first teleseminar and get it over with because it wasn’t going to be any good anyway…..I thought I could do that…..No high expectations. No worrying about what “they” will think….so I did.

I did my first teleseminar on the second night of Simple 1.

Bob: After SIMPLE, what actions did you take to move your business forward?

Gretchen: I developed my product. Beta tested it. Have it listed on Clickbank and have 3 affiliates already. And working on more teleseminars and JV partnerships.

Bob: What results have you had in your life and business since you started putting SIMPLE strategies into action?

Bob: What would you tell someone who is thinking about attending SIMPLE to help them decide?

Gretchen:

• Do whatever it takes to get yourself there if you truly want an internet business!
• Ask yourself where you want to be 6 months from now?
• How are you going to get there?
• Who do you trust to help you?

Kristen Eckstein

Today, it’s Kristen Eckstein, from High Point, North Carolina.

Briefly describe the status of your business before you came to SIMPLE?

Before I came to SIMPLE, I had no autoresponder systems, no opt-in to a sophisticated email service, and a non-responsive list of about 50 people.

My website had just been launched, but I had no freebie or ethical bribe.

The only products/services I was offering were a newly launched national publishing consulting program and I was in the process of creating a writing coaching program.

When you first thought about coming to SIMPLE, did anything almost keep you from making the trip?

Nothing! I was within driving distance, it was an introduction to Internet and Affiliate marketing, which I desperately needed, and it was a chance to connect to my target audience. No-brainer.

During the SIMPLE event, what 3 things stick out to you now as being a different kind of event or seminar?

1. Step-by-step instructions. Many techno-geeky things I was familiar with or heard of were explained in clear step-by-step detail. I could have tried figuring them out on my own, as I’m pretty geeky myself, but the systems presented saved me a lot of time and frustration.
2. Time to network with others. Connections and partnerships were made during breaks, and the snacks provided encouraged people to hang around outside the room and network rather than run off to their rooms. The special dinner gathering was great as well. There’s nothing like sitting next to poor sick Bob while he tries to cram down a piece of grilled chicken.
3. Growth potential. I’m attending SIMPLE2 because I realize I have much more to learn, and even though some things will be covered again, by getting them again I’ll see them from a different perspective than I did the first time around.

What were 2-3 shifts in thinking that you were able to make during or immediately after SIMPLE?

1. Take action – Implement now, don’t wait for perfection.
2. Revise later – don’t just leave it, make sure you revise it based on feedback, etc.

After SIMPLE, what actions did you take to move your business forward?

While at SIMPLE1, I implemented an autoresponder system, a freebie “bribe”, and scratched my old email list.

Since SIMPLE I’ve joined several JV opportunities, grown my list to over 1,000 people (in less than 6 months), upgraded my bribe to a video workshop with 2 free, and the last 5 as a paid product.

I also launched my writing coaching program which is now in revision.

What results have you had in your life and business since you started putting SIMPLE strategies into action?

• I’ve gotten some affiliate income by promoting others’ products.
• My own products have grown, expanded, and have affiliates selling them. FinishTheBook.com has been revamped to include an accountability program (revise later!) with a slightly higher price point. Re-launch will be happening during SIMPLE2. IamPublished.com has been revised with higher price points, has 4 JV partners now re-selling it, and the Gold level is more than full.UltimateBookCoach.com has grown with both list growth (over 1,000 people), content and readership. The credibility factor has increased to the point I have signed on many “big names” as clients.
• We recently installed DAP on my sites and will have the affiliate system and shopping cart systems fully integrated by SIMPLE2 – ALL thanks to SIMPLE1!!

What’s next for you as you continue to implement SIMPLE strategies in your business?

I’m looking forward to building more relationships at SIMPLE2 and seeing the information presented from a different perspective than the place I was at during SIMPLE1. It’s sure to generate more ideas I can implement before SIMPLE3!

What would you tell someone who is thinking about attending SIMPLE to help them decide?

If you don’t go, watch the Tweetstream #simple2 and you’ll end up regretting the decision to not go.

Bob The Teacher: Briefly describe the status of your business before you came to SIMPLE?

D’vorah Lansky: While I have been marketing my network marketing business online since 1994, I have been Internet marketing for the past five years. Until SIMPLE I had not accomplished nearly enough in regards to list building and affiliate marketing. Since attending SIMPLE, both of these areas of my business have grown exponentially.

Bob: When you first thought about coming to SIMPLE, what almost kept you from making the trip?

D’vorah: Making the trip via airplane on the eve of a blizzard. Man am I glad that I attended!

Bob: During the SIMPLE event, what 3 things stick out to you now as being a different kind of event or seminar?

D’vorah:

1. Bob’s style of teaching make the information attainable. This even differed in that Bob was the primary teacher along with several guest experts who spoke on topics related to the focus of SIMPLE.
2. While the guest teachers did share with us about their products or programs, there was no pressure to purchase. At other events that I’ve attended it was more of a “sales-fest”.
3. There was a sense of community versus competition, amongst the attendees.

Bob: What were 2-3 shifts in thinking that you were able to make during or immediately after SIMPLE?

D’vorah:

1. I mapped out my projects, put them on a time line and plugged them into my calendar. This allowed me to accomplish more and see projects through to completion.
2. By having my projects mapped out, I was able to focus more on the project at hand as well as either delegate or future schedule items that came across my desk that did not related to my current focus.

Bob: What results have you had in your life and business since you started putting SIMPLE strategies into action?

D’vorah: In the six months following Simple I – I have:

• Published a book – Connect, Communicate and Profit (which is featured on Amazon.com – http://budurl.com/bydvorah )
• Launched Relationship Marketing Cafe – an online Radio Show
• Conducted a full fledged, nine-week blog tour featuring some of the top Internet Marketers in the world
• Launched a new program which will air seasonally called Conversations About Marketing. The upcoming season will be focused on interviewing marketing experts who specialize in helping authors to market their books.
• Developed a new course, which will launch this fall – How To Market Your Non-Fiction Book

Additionally, I have branded myself as a “Relationship Marketing Wizard”, which has grown my private Internet Marketing Coaching practice and my SendOutCards business.

Bob: What’s next for you as you continue to implement SIMPLE strategies in your business?

D’vorah:

• I am continuing to promote my recent book launch
• I’m preparing for my upcoming Web radio show: Conversations About Marketing
• I am putting the finishing touches on my upcoming course “How to Market Your Non-Fiction Book”.

Bob: What would you tell someone who is thinking about attending SIMPLE to help them decide?
